We Happy Few Puppets was created in 2019 by the founder Millie Wise during her time at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. The entire ethos of the company is to explore the more unusual side of puppetry, straying away from conventions and challenging what is ‘normal’.

There is something very beautiful about performances that make you uncomfortable or at the very least make you question your role in this world. This is a very important part of puppetry to us at We Happy Few Puppets as we're already performing in a medium that pushes the senses, so why not open the mind up a little bit more? If you want something that makes you think, we'll have it for you.

The main style of puppetry used in our shows is a variation of table top puppets and full body manipulation but rest assured we are set on exploring the depths of the puppet world, sinking our teeth into shadow, dipping our toes in glove puppets, a sprinkling of marionettes and a splash of clowning.

We want to bring you intimate and thought provoking performances that will leave you with a tingle in your spine.
